Huntingtons Queensland is excited to invite young people (ages 16 – 25) throughout Queensland to join us at a 4-day youth retreat in Currimundi, Sunshine Coast.
This retreat, from 26 – 29 June, will be hosted by Huntingtons Queensland, and gives attendees an opportunity to network with other young people, share their experiences, learn from others, and access a wide range of resources and fun activities including stand up paddle boarding, rock climbing and more.
We hope young people attending the retreat will benefit by feeling less isolated, more supported, as well coming away from the retreat with an improved understanding of HD and strong peer connections with other young people in similar situations. Our experienced team will support participants on-site at all times.
This retreat is through the generosity of the Community Gambling Benefit Fund, so there is no cost to attendees. However, places are limited, and hopeful attendees must apply using the form below.
To be eligible for the retreat you must be:
– Aged between 16 -25 (you must be aged 16 at the time of the retreat – if you are slightly below or above this age range contact Lauren at Lauren@huntingtonsqld.org.au or 07 3435 4300 to discuss if you are able to apply)
– A young person who is impacted by HD in some way
– Living in Queensland
All applications must be received by 5pm, Monday 8 April. For applicants under 18 we request some information from your parent/guardian(s). We ask a range of questions about your circumstances with regards to HD so that we can gain a better understanding of your experience of being impacted by HD. Costs (including retreat fees, accommodation, travel and food) will be covered for each participant.
If you have any questions prior to submitting your application, you can contact Huntingtons Queensland via Lauren@huntingtonsqld.org.au or call us on 07 3435 4300 and ask for Lauren.
