Below are the terms of trade for donations and other payments to Huntingtons Queensland (the Australian Huntingtons Disease Association (Qld) Inc – ABN 45 130 081 598). Huntingtons Queensland is a grateful recipient of donations from members of the public and organisations to support our fundraising efforts and fund our services.
Making a donation
Donations can be made over the phone using credit card, by direct electronic transfer, or simply by donating through our website. All donations $2 and over are tax deductible.
Donations made online will receive an automatically generated tax receipt, and those made over the phone or by bank transfer will receive a mailed receipt where contact details are provided.
All donations through our website will be processed through a secure server that meets the industry standards required by our bank, the Westpac Banking Corporation.
If you are paying online by credit card, once your details are entered your order will be processed securely online using the SSL encryption standard.
If you are paying by credit card over the phone, your order will be processed manually. Once payment is confirmed, your credit card information is destroyed.
No credit card details are retained by Huntingtons Queensland either in hard copy or electronically.
Processing of orders
For any order you make directly from Huntingtons Queensland (for example: purchasing items or entry to events), our office will process the order within 10 business days of payment receipt. Please note that any office closures or busy times of year (such as Christmas, New Year or Easter) may cause a slight delay in processing.
You may contact Huntingtons Queensland at any time for more information about your order, and the team will liaise on your behalf if the order is submitted to a third party supplier. Items that are to be posted to you will be sent by regular Australia Post unless otherwise requested and paid for by the purchaser. Huntingtons Queensland takes no responsibility for items lost during transit.
For the purchase of physical items, there may be a few weeks between initial order placement and receipt of the item.
Exchange and refund policy
Huntingtons Queensland does not normally provide refunds for purchases, for example for events, memberships or products. Please contact our office for more information if required.
Refund of donations
If making a donation, it is the donor’s responsibility to ensure that care is taken in providing accurate account details and to ensure that the correct amount is indicated in Australian dollars. Donations made to Huntingtons Queensland are not refundable.
Processing of refunds
Refunds can only be made using the original payment method and in the case of a credit card transaction, back to the original credit card used.
Refunds will be processed by Huntingtons Queensland staff within five business days. Please note that the speed of the banking system varies and it may be up to another three business days before your refund appears in your account.
Payment and currency
We accept Visa and MasterCard. You may also make payments by direct deposit, money order or cheque (made out to Huntingtons Queensland).
All prices are in Australian dollars and where required include Goods and Services Tax (GST) at 10%.

Events promoted and/or managed by Huntingtons Queensland may have their own terms and conditions regarding the purchase of tickets, items, sponsorship packages or other transactions. Any such conditions will be made available as part of the planning and promotion of such events.
Third party suppliers (such as the Everyday Hero fundraising platform) may also have their own terms and conditions for use.
